Enterprises 2010: number of local units by sector of activity and decentralization area

The dataset contains the number of local units (UL) present in the Municipality of Milan and the related employees, classified by Ateco 2007 UL code (5-digit) and by Zone. NOTE 1: the local unit is the physical place where the company carries out its business, therefore it can coincide with the company or with a part of it. (Some examples: agency, bar, warehouse, shop, laboratory, warehouse, professional studio, office, clinic, hotel...). NOTE 2: for a part of the ULs (about 2%) the data on the area is not available, due to the address not being present or lack of connection with the toponym archive. For the latter case, the coupling is in the verification/completion phase. NOTE 3: Employment figures are calculated as work units. In this regard, it should be remembered that the full-time work units (AWU) can refer to the work performed in the year by a full-time employee, or to the equivalent amount of work performed by part-time workers or by workers who carry out a double work. (e.g. two part-time workers at 50% equal 1 work unit). The work unit is therefore not linked to the individual natural person, but conventionally refers to a standard full-time work quantity defined by national contracts.
