2011 census: inhabited localities

The dataset shows the geographical data of inhabited localities, referring to the territory of the municipality of Milan, used for the 15th Population and Housing Census 2011. ISTAT defines an inhabited locality as follows:a more or less large area of territory, normally known with a proper name, on which one or more grouped or scattered houses are located. Three types of inhabited localities are distinguished: inhabited centre, inhabited nucleus and scattered houses (houses scattered throughout the municipal territory at such a distance from each other that they cannot even constitute an inhabited nucleus). Each inhabited locality is associated with the respective census variables (population , families, homes and buildings when present). The downloadable csv resource contains columns of georeferenced points, which correspond to the centroid of the geometry used in the related GeoJSON resource. Further information about the column content is available in the Data Dictionary table below the preview of the CSV file.
