Within the framework of the implementation of the EU WFD, the restoration of ecological continuity in the naturally formed watercourse systems is of primary importance. Within the Elbe River Basin Community (FGG) supra-regional priority waters were therefore initially designated in 2009 (GAUMERT et al. 2009), whose continuity is vital, especially for long-distance migratory fish species such as eel, sturgeon, salmon, sea trout, sea and river lamprey, North Sea houting or allice shad is. Initially, six bodies of water are accounted for in the state of Brandenburg. The selection and determination of the regional priority waters was carried out in 2009 by the Brandenburg State Environment Agency and was validated and supplemented as part of the state concept, in particular with fish-ecological requirements. In the updates of the state concept from 2012 and 2016, a detailed recording of all transverse structures in priority waters was carried out. Furthermore, concrete structural proposals for the creation of ecological continuity for all structures in priority waters are included. This data is not yet available for download.
