Decker's map series marked the beginning of the survey of the country by the Prussian General Staff. From 1816 to 1821, large areas including the then province of Brandenburg were recorded at a scale of 1:25,000. The resulting so-called square mile sheets have a circumference of 667 sheets. Some of these sections were reproduced in reduction to a scale of 1:50,000 under the supervision of Carl von Decker. The area around Berlin has been published in 9 map sheets under the designation "Around Berlin". These originals from the holdings of the Berlin State Library - Prussian Cultural Heritage - have been reproduced by the LGB and are therefore available to everyone as a facsimile print. The overall extent extends from Kremmen, Oranienburg and Biesenthal in the north to Mittenwalde and Storkow in the south and from Nauen and Ketzin in the west to Strausberg in the east. A single sheet is available for 12 euros, the set of all 9 cards for 81 euros.
