Cameras at intersections

The municipality installs one or two cameras at all intersections with traffic lights to monitor the flow of traffic. Once a year, traffic research is carried out to measure the queues and properly adjust the traffic lights. The cameras are also used to handle complaints about traffic lights. The camera images are not recorded: they are only occasionally viewed live remotely by five authorized municipal employees. It is impossible to look inside homes around the intersection because windows are automatically 'blurred' by software using privacy masking. Read more about how the camera images are secured here.
