Brownfield covenants, Status 16/07/2018

The Flemish Government wishes to stimulate and facilitate the redevelopment of abandoned industrial estates (so-called brownfields) by concluding covenants with project developers and investors. Through such an agreement, project developers and investors receive a number of legal-administrative and financial advantages in the development of vacant and underused industrial estates. The Flemish Government wants to encourage them to preferably reuse abandoned sites (brownfields) instead of developing new areas (greenfields) for the development of industrial activities, housing or recreation.

Zowel geactiveerde, als onontvankelijke verklaarde convenanten kunnen voor eenzelfde site voorkomen.
