Trees

All trees managed by the Municipality of Eindhoven are part of this data collection. The administrative data that is displayed when you click on an object provides more information about the status (as an indication), tree type, size of the tree, etc. The administrative data of the tree includes, among other things: to find the “status for indication”. This indicative status is determined on the basis of the most current data, but the status of a tree can change due to circumstances. Checking the status of a tree is therefore always necessary. The tree status results from the tree regulation (2021) of the Municipality of Eindhoven. In accordance with the Tree Regulations, the following statuses occur in this data collection:Basic treeThe label 'basic' applies to all trees that are not private, nor valuable or monumental. These are all “other” trees in public spaces (owned by the municipality of Eindhoven) or private land. Only the municipal basic trees are included in the database and accompanying map. We therefore call a tree 'basic tree' if this tree does not fall under one of the categories below but is owned by the municipality of Eindhoven.'Basic trees' in forests are not included. Valuable treeThis is a municipal tree that meets at least the following requirements: The tree is at least 50 years old;The tree must not be in an irreparable condition (complete decay of the tree cannot be expected within 10 years).All trees within the municipal green structure are also valuable, regardless of their age, size, etc. The tree then provides at least an important added value for: Nature, Landscape, Cultural history, city and village beauty, quality of life, water storage, heat stress , production, the intrinsic values ​​of a tree.Monumental treeMonumental trees are trees in municipal or private property that meets the following requirements:The tree is at least 80 years old, with an exception being possible for a tree with a high dendrological value and/or a rare tree or a memorial tree);The tree may not be in an irreparable condition (complete decay of the tree cannot be expected within 10 years;Memorial trees are also monumental trees, regardless their size, age, etc.;The tree provides at least an important added value for: Nature, Landscape, Cultural history, city and village beauty, quality of life, water storage, heat stress, production, intrinsic values of a tree.Oak processionary caterpillarFor oaks there are a number of attributes that are classified with the term "EPR" (EPR_PRESENT, EPR_CONTROL METHOD, EPR_STADIUM, etc.). These attributes relate to the detection and subsequent control of the oak processionary caterpillar.
