Soil map of Schleswig-Holstein 1:25 000

The soil map of Schleswig-Holstein 1:25,000 shows the soils as soil types for about half of the state. Each area is assigned an area-dominant soil type. Companion floors are not listed. In addition to the soil types, the map contains information on the dominant substrate genesis, soil type stratification, soil parent rock and groundwater level, as well as possible anthropogenic changes or special features. The soils are described up to 2m below ground level. The map is based on analogue individual map sheets from the Soil Map 1:25,000 map series of Schleswig-Holstein. This map series has been created over the course of more than 50 years of soil mapping in Schleswig-Holstein and has been developed into a digital, leaf-free map with a uniform legend in recent years. The legend is based on the pedological mapping instructions (Ad-hoc-AG Boden 2005). There is an extensive profile database for the map with use-differentiated, idealized guide profiles, which enables the user to apply many established pedological evaluation methods (cf. method documentation Bodenkunde 2000 with updates 2012).
