Marecchia-Conca basins, coast, frequent flood hazard H-P3

The cartography represents the delimitation of potentially floodable areas during extreme weather-marine events characterized by probability (return time equal to 10 years) as required by EU Dir. 2007/60/EC art. 6, relating to the coastal area of the Unit of Management UoM (ITI01319), over which the Marecchia-Conca Basin Authority is competent. The elaboration does not take into account the presence of temporary defense measures, such as for example winter embankments and movable bulkheads, since these are not real structural works, but tools used by Municipalities and private individuals for risk management. They are put in place in the winter to reduce the damage caused by storm surges.

lineage The coastal floodable areas were created by the Geological, Seismic and Soil Service of the Emilia-Romagna Region and identified, using a geographical data analysis model created with reference to the methodologies indicated in Report T03-08-02 'Guidelines on Coastal Flood Hazard Mapping'. The entire analysis procedure includes the following points: first mapping, through the use of a simplified model developed in a GIS environment, of the potentially floodable areas for the 3 different scenarios considered. The model, which does not consider the run-up factor, simulates wave propagation; check with the historical data collected in the large database relating to storm events of the last 60 years (in_Storm); control of critical points with expected run-up values; analysis of the correspondence with the hazardous areas obtained using a commercial hydraulic model.
