road areas

Road area management. Area included within the road boundaries. It is the plane formed by the roadway and the pertinent strips, i.e. shoulders, sidewalks and tracks; it can include different types of pedestrian, road or other types of traffic, such as the tramway. From ROAD CODE (Legislative Decree N 285 of 04.30.92): 'the roadway includes the carriageway, sidewalks, shoulders and tracks. Everything located outside these areas is not a road (e.g. grassy edge, water drainage channels, clearings adjacent to the road, etc.).' Objects such as central reservations, flower beds, etc. they are not part of the road area.
