PET heat map Province of Zeeland

At the beginning of 2019, the standardized calculation method for heat stress was established. This map has been prepared according to the standard. The heat stress map shows a wind chill, the Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET) in the outdoor area. For the correct interpretation of the map, it is also important to know which ambient temperature has been taken as the starting point. For this, the data from the KNMI station Vlissingen on 1 July 2015 between 12:00 and 18:00. The average temperature over that period is 28.3 degrees Celsius. The following source files were used in making this map: - Shadow - KNMI 2013 derived from the AHN2 with the position of the sun on 1 July 2015 - Sky view Factor - KNMI 2013 derived from the AHN2 - Wind reduction - calculated by Nelen and Schuurmans according to the heat stress recipe - Wind speed - measured at KNMI station 1 July 2015 - NDVI - Aerial photo 2018 - Bowen ratio - Land use map 2018 (0.4 is vegetation, 3 is paved surface) - Trees - derived from the AHN2. - Radiation - KNMI station - meteorological data KNMI station Vlissingen July 1, 2015
