Beekdalen (function classification) (OGV, 2010) (history)

On 2 June 2010, the Provincial Council adopted the Environmental Vision. The stream valleys are indicated on maps 1 and 10. The systems of water, nature and agriculture are regarded as carriers for the spatial development of Drenthe and must be sufficiently robust and disruption as a result of a development has no significant consequences for the functioning of the system. In principle, within the robust systems, the development of the main function (in this case water) is paramount. On the vision map (map 1), the robust systems are indicated with a global boundary that is made more specific in municipal zoning plans. Map 10 (Water Framework Directive) lists a number of ecological goals for streams, including the possibility for streams to flood.
