Phreatic groundwater quality

The quality of the upper groundwater (around the water table) is measured in the Provincial Phreatic Groundwater Quality Monitoring Network (the formal name is Soil Quality Monitoring Network). This is done at 104 locations in agricultural and nature areas. The aim is to identify undesirable changes in good time and to assess whether measures are effective or whether additional measures are necessary. The original themes of eutrophication (for agriculture and manure policy) and acidification (for nature policy) have been brought together in the monitoring network.
