Groundwaterstairs

The average level of the groundwater, divided into different classes. This is also referred to as the Groundwater Trap (Gt). The groundwater level is measured in the field. The position of these measurements has an accuracy of 25 meters. The Gt is calculated using the Current Height File Netherlands (AHN). The calculations were carried out on the basis of a grid of 25 by 25 metres. The dataset contains 70 percent of the total land area of the Netherlands. All data from the province of Noord-Brabant and from the water boards of Peel en Maasvallei, Reest en Wieden, Rijn en IJssel, Regge en Dinkel and Velt en Vecht are included. The dataset also contains the data of all other agricultural plots of the sand areas and loess areas in the rest of the Netherlands. The reliability of the Gt can be determined on the basis of the reliability of the Average Highest Groundwater Level (GHG) and the Average Lowest Groundwater Level (GLG). The data is valid for the period from April 21, 2005 to April 21, 2010.
