Environmental Ordinance - Quiet Areas

This file contains designated quiet areas to prevent or limit noise nuisance in accordance with the regulation. The province strives for optimal use of the positive effects of silence, low noise levels and the preservation of the diversity of sounds, both in nature reserves and in areas in or near the urban environment. This aim is related to the goals for nature, housing, recreation and the leisure economy. The province has a statutory duty to take measures for silence. She fills this in by naming silence as a core quality of the Gelders Nature Network and the Green Development Zone. The province thus drops the designation of the eight quiet areas. The Environmental Ordinance was adopted on September 24, 2014 by the Provincial Council.
