Harmonized price indices (1996=100)

Since March 1997, in addition to the national consumer price index, Statistics Netherlands has been compiling the harmonized consumer price index for the Netherlands for the benefit of the European Union (EU). The harmonized consumer price index is compiled in a similar way in the EU Member States and therefore provides a good comparison of price developments within the Member States. However, the index is less suitable for accurately reflecting national inflation. Data available from January 1996 to December 2005. Frequency: discontinued as of January 1, 2006.
