This table contains figures on the total group of young people aged 18 to 25 who left education early. This concerns the European 2020 indicator “Early leaving from education and training”. The data can be broken down by gender and country of origin (parents). Statistics Netherlands is switching to a new classification of the population by origin. From now on, where someone was born is more decisive than where someone's parents were born. The word migration background is no longer used. The main division western/non-western is replaced by a division based on continents and common immigration countries. This classification is gradually being introduced in tables and publications with population by origin. Data available from: 2013 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are final. Changes as of March 8, 2023: Country of origin has been added as a separate selection. Changes as of January 12, 2023: None, this is a new table. This table has been compiled on the basis of the Labor Force Survey (EBB). Due to changes in the research design and the questionnaire of the EBB, the figures from 2021 are not directly comparable with the figures up to and including 2020. The key figures in this table have therefore been made consistent with the (non-seasonally adjusted) figures in the Labor participation table, seasonally adjusted key figures (see section 4), in which the results for the period 2013-2020 have been recalculated to match the results from 2021. When the results are further detailed according to job and personal characteristics, there may nevertheless be differences from 2020 to 2021 as as a result of the new method. When will new numbers come out? The new figures will be published in February. This table is the successor of the Youth table; early school leavers, gender, migration background, 2003-2020. See section 3.
