Biodiversity Flora Red list species Kilometer loft

The biodiversity maps show the number of focus species, invasive species, map species or Red List species that occur per area of approximately 1 square kilometer (0.75 – 1.25 km2). The areas are limited by landscape ecological features (previously a grid of square kilometer squares was used). The maps thus provide a good picture of the areas with the highest and lowest biodiversity in the province of Utrecht. There are maps that show the diversity of all flora and fauna groups together, as well as maps that show the number of species of each species group separately. The data concern validated observations that are stored in the National Database of Flora and Fauna (NDFF), supplemented by accident-validated observations that have been collected by consultancy firms on behalf of the province. The data was obtained from the NDFF in February 2022. Less precisely localized observations are assigned to their centered area. This also applies to observations at the square-kilometer level. Red List species (RL) are the species on the lists of rare and/or declining species established by the State. It concerns vascular plants, mushrooms, mosses and lichens. The maps of the RL species cover the period 2000 up to and including 2021. See the biodiversity supplement of the Nature Vision for more information.
