GES contours noise due to companies

Zone around the industrial estate laid down in the zoning plan or zoning decision, outside which the 24-hour noise exposure as a result of the zoned industrial estate may not exceed 50 dB(A). (The zoning plan is drawn up by the municipality. In the past, zone decisions were adopted by the Minister of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment. The zone manager assesses whether companies fit within the noise zone.) The noise impact caused by companies has been translated into GES (health effect screening) classes and on maps displayed. The aim is to gain insight into bottlenecks in the existing situation and into the risks associated with new developments. With this insight, choices can be substantiated.
