Schiphol restricted areas

Schiphol height restriction area, as designated in LIB art 2.2.2, external safety restriction area LIB art 2.2.1 paragraph 3 and noise restriction area LIB art 2.2.1 paragraph 4 2.2 Restriction areas Since its entry into force in 2003, the LIB has already included four restriction areas. The location of these four restricted areas will not be changed by this amendment decree. With this amendment decree, a fifth area has been added: the so-called 20Ke area from the Spatial Planning Memorandum. This was done in order to continue the legal effect, as indicated in the Structural Vision for Infrastructure and Spatial Planning (SVIR). The rules are aimed at leaving sufficient space within this fifth area for the development of Schiphol Mainport on the one hand and to enable (housing) developments on the other. Both serve the national interest. For reasons of consistency, the 20Ke contour has been retained as the geographical demarcation of this planning 'assessment area'. The location of this planning consideration area corresponds to the planning area in the Spatial Planning Memorandum. The name »20Ke» evokes associations with the sound contours on which it is originally based. This is why this area is referred to as a 'planning consideration area' in this decree and is not referred to as a noise contour. The rules within the five restricted areas are explained in Chapter 4.
