The damage percentages by sector are included in this table. The claims percentage indicates whether sufficient premiums are received to pay the claims submitted. If the percentage is less than 100%, that is the case. Non-life insurers reimburse damage suffered by insured persons in exchange for an annual premium. Non-life insurers fall under the guidelines of the Insurance Industry Supervision Act (WTV 1993). The introduction of the Health Insurance Act in 2006 resulted in an expansion of the Accidents and Health sector with the former health insurance funds. The basic insurance provided by health insurers is regarded as social insurance. The basic insurance is therefore removed from the non-life insurance. The source for this statistic is the supervisory reporting of insurers to De Nederlandsche Bank. This reporting has changed considerably since 2007. The processing method has therefore also changed considerably. The differences between the figures for 2006 and 2007 are partly due to a break in the series. Data available from 1999 to 2015 Status of the figures: The figures are final. Changes as of December 8, 2017: None, this table has been discontinued. When will new numbers come out? Not applicable anymore. A new division of tasks has been agreed in the context of the strategic cooperation between Statistics Netherlands and DNB. Insurers and pension funds explicitly fall within DNB's area of activity. The publication of tables by Statistics Netherlands relating to insurers and pension funds has therefore been discontinued.
