State-protected landscaping

The map layer of nationally protected green areas shows parks, gardens, yards and cemeteries that are protected as national monuments. A green construction is a construction of paths, water features and plants, among other things. Defenses are not included on this layer (unless converted to city park). A national monument is included in the National Monuments Register as maintained by the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (RCE). The construction can be an independent unit or be part of an ensemble, such as a villa with garden or a monastery with cloister garden. Not all areas show the correct or legal size of the national monument: the areas with an interrupted outer border are only indicative! The areas with a continuous outer border have been taken from the National Monuments Register and have been established.
