Peat meadow areas - Soil map

Differences in soil properties within peat meadow areas that influence the suitability for dairy farming: On the soil suitability maps for grazing, large areas are designated as land with few opportunities for grazing. These are pasture lands with a handicap: they still have a moderate (sometimes even high) gross production, but due to large grazing losses and very limited drivability, these lands must be treated with the right (farmers) policy. What is a handicap for regular pasture farming (poor carrying capacity) is, however, beneficial for organic pasture farming (higher nutritional status and a higher organic matter content).
