Environmental vision - Water catchment areas

The water extraction areas are the zones immediately surrounding the extraction wells with water that will be pumped up within 1 year. These protected areas concern the zone that includes the extraction wells and their immediate surroundings. The province and its partners strive to protect groundwater as a source of drinking water supply. The update plan was adopted by the Provincial Council on 19 December 2018.
