Environmental Ordinance- Green Development Zone

The province wants to enable the development of functional combinations of nature with other functions if they substantially contribute to strengthening the ecological coherence of nature in the Gelderland nature network and the landscape and cultural-historical qualities present. The Green development zone consists of areas with a destination other than nature that are spatially intertwined with the Gelderland nature network. This mainly concerns agricultural land, but also areas for residential and day recreation, infrastructure, homes and businesses. The update plan was adopted by the Provincial Council on December 21, 2022, the date of entry into force is January 14, 2023.
