Traffic Immission Forecast 2030 Particulate Matter (PM2.5)

The file provides a forecast of the air quality with regard to ultra-fine particles (PM2.5) around national, provincial and municipal roads in Gelderland in the year 2030. The data has been calculated nationally using the Monitoring tool. The prognosis for the concentration of PM2.5 at 10 meters from the edge of the road is indicated for each road section. The air quality is presented in five concentration classes. From 2015 onwards, a limit value of 25 µg/m3 applies to the annual average PM2.5 concentration. In addition, for 2020 there is an 'indicative limit value' for the annual average of 20 µg/m3. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends 10 µg/m3 as a standard according to the latest scientific insights. The air quality is calculated, among other things, on the basis of forecasts of traffic intensities and calculation models based on the year 2017. The sources, such as industry and agriculture, are incorporated in the background concentration. The direct contribution from road traffic is also included in the total concentration. The values calculated with the model have an inaccuracy of 20-25 percent.
