EHS 2007 (Ecological Main Structure) (history)

The Ecological Main Structure (EHS) is a coherent structure of areas with a special natural quality. The current state of affairs EHS is on the map. This will be adjusted annually. The details of the ecological connecting zones and robust connections are also reflected in this. The EHS is further supplemented with areas that have yet to be demarcated or are designated as EHS in some other way. In addition, there are reservations for areas that need to be implemented in land development, the so-called star areas. External organizations are also consulted during the update. The following data has been used to concretise the EHS: The properties of the site management organizations (SBB, NMM, HDL), land belonging to the water companies, private forest owners, forest expansion in the permanent forest category, forest reserves, parts of the EHS sensitive to acidification (WAV map, GS Dec. 2004) and the Area Plan with the status of management area or nature reserve.
