Wood girths and wooded banks

This file contains hedgerows and hedgerows in the province of Groningen. In Westerwolde, the Gorecht and in the landscape of the Southern Westerkwartier, hedgerows and hedgerows occur. They contribute to the variety and contrast between the open and enclosed areas and thus to the diversity of the landscape. They are linear plantings with trees and/or shrubs. These elements often form boundaries of plots or are partitions with a different function. Roughly speaking, two types can be distinguished: plants on an artificial earth bank (wooden embankment) and plants on the same level as the surrounding land (wood belt). Part of the hedgerows from this file is part of the monitoring network, which means that they are monitored every four years. The status of the other windbreaks is unknown.
