Traffic levels in Hamburg

Traffic counts are carried out at regular intervals in the Hamburg area. The results of these counts are primarily used for traffic planning and to determine traffic development in Hamburg. For each year, the average daily motor vehicle traffic volumes are determined as a parameter of the average traffic load on a street cross-section and displayed on a map. Using mathematical-statistical methods, a distinction is made between average values ​​for all days (DTV, Monday to Sunday) and all working days (DTVw, Monday to Friday). The average values ​​are based on more than 300 gauges (cross-sectional counts) at which the flowing vehicle traffic is recorded using permanent counting points (induction loops), infrared sensors (thermal imaging cameras) or manual traffic counts (randomly on representative days, at least once a year). The traffic volumes since 2004 have been published in this service (as an Excel table for download), and the last 10 years are visualized as tables and diagrams.
