Wuppertal ATOM Feed resident parking areas

The ATOM Feed download service for resident parking areas in Wuppertal provides a data set for download that includes the delimitations and names of (as of May 2023) 143 modeled resident parking areas in the Wuppertal city area, maintained by the Roads and Traffic Department. “Resident parking areas” are those areas within resident parking zones where cars with a resident parking permit valid for the respective zone may be parked. The application for the issuance of such a resident parking permit can be submitted digitally via the Wuppertal service portal. The boundaries of the resident parking areas were constructed for the first time in March 2023 based on the street and address area assignments in the public residents' parking zone list as well as a comparison with the traffic sign register based on the official ABK base map. For each surrounding polygon of a resident parking area, the data record also contains the two name components, the combination of which uniquely identifies the associated resident parking zone, namely the ZONE (abbreviation of a maximum of 4 capital letters) and the NR (optional alphanumeric subdivision of the zone). The continuation of the data set provided by the Roads and Traffic Department takes place irregularly, always promptly after a change in the resident parking zones and areas. The digital continuation process is currently under construction. The open data data set, which is available in Shape, KML and GeoJSON format under an open data license (CC BY 4.0), is updated automatically on a fixed, weekly basis. The download service is updated daily by comparing its metadata and the metadata for the Wuppertal resident parking area data set in GEOkatalog.NRW.
