Number of passengers boarded per station in 2022
The traveler counts are carried out annually in October. These counts are the result of a short observation over time, which inevitably involves a margin of error, which in some cases can be significant. However, these counts are the only available source that allow us to determine the number of boarding passengers per station as well as their long-term evolution. The figures do not allow a distinction to be made between travelers who go to the station and those who have to make a connection (i.e. counted twice). Although solutions for such counts consist of automated technologies that are regularly studied, manual counting offers, to date, the best value for money.
In 2022, the counts were carried out from Saturday October 1st to Sunday October 9th. They are a snapshot and are not representative of the entire year. The published results give the average number of boarding passengers per station for a working day (from Monday to Friday, shown in the “week” column in the tables), for a Saturday and for a Sunday.
