In nature protection areas, in the national parks "Harz" and "Niedersächsisches Wattenmeer" as well as in area C of the biosphere reserve "Niedersächsische Elbtalaue" as well as in Bremen's Natura 2000 protection areas or other areas with sovereignly regulated usage requirements for permanent grassland, there is a right to compensation for difficulties. Building on these requirements additional funding is granted as part of a 5-year commitment for more extensive management conditions that restrict agricultural use. Which management conditions can be offered and combined in the respective area depends on the determination of the nature conservation requirements for the fulfillment of the protection purpose. The determination is made by of the responsible UNB in advance, taking into account the regional-specific conditions and operational possibilities.Additional management conditions can include: no mechanical tillage in spring, no grassland renewal, overseeding possible, no chemical pesticides, no fertilization, no agricultural use in spring.
