The Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) has developed a process for the needs-based provision of remote sensing data. Optical satellite imagery is currently the preferred choice for remote sensing production in the federal administration. The so-called mosaic method is an important method for this. The method was set up using the EU-funded Sentinel-2 data from the European Earth observation initiative Copernicus and can be used for any optical dataset (including aerial photographs). With this method, we provide a service that can be used to prepare optical remote sensing data for any area on earth in a professional and needs-oriented manner. This service enables users to integrate pre-processed and prepared remote sensing information from the Copernicus earth observation program (Sentinel-2, L1C-L2A) for the Federal Republic of Germany into their own existing specialist procedures. The image data from the years 2018 to 2021 were combined into a mosaic with a ground resolution of 10 m. Three composites from five bands (Sentinel-2 bands: 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8, or R, G, B, Red Edge and NIR) as well as information on the input image data are offered. The original resolution of channel 5 (20 m) has been calculated to 10 m using a resampling process. Cloud cover for the mosaic is less than 3% over the entire area. Separate layers are provided for the different annual statuses (e.g. Layers=rgb_2019 or Layers=nirrer_2020). All annual statuses are also combined in the three layers rgb, nir and nirrer. A specific annual status can be displayed here via the TIME request parameter (e.g. Time=2018) (without the TIME parameter, the latest status is displayed). Ground resolution: 10m
