Subject card potential geothermal energy Rijnland Groep (COP 15, Tretour 35)

Commissioned by the province of South Holland, IF-Technology carried out the study "Potential geothermal energy in South Holland", 2 December 2016. This map shows an indication of the number of potential geothermal energy systems. For this purpose, a grid of 1.5 by 3.0 km (the size that corresponds to the space occupied by a geothermal system) has been superimposed on the map and the potential per grid has been determined on the basis of the Rijnland Groep potential map. The potential is shown in the average power (MWt) and the amount of energy (PJ) that can be produced within the grid with a single conventional doublet at a coefficient of performance (COP) of 15 and a return temperature of 35°C. Geothermal energy is also known as geothermal heat.
