Noise zoning Rotterdam The Hague Airport - Terrain

Based on the Aviation Act, it has been determined where the noise zones are located around domestic airports. The government has established the noise zones mainly to limit the noise nuisance for people living near airports. In addition, the zones have a function from the point of view of spatial planning. Within the zones, for example, restrictions apply to new construction and the establishment of certain companies, and existing noise-sensitive buildings (homes, schools, etc.) are insulated if necessary. Rotterdam Airport is located on the northern outskirts of Rotterdam. Air traffic can use a paved runway of 2200 x 45 meters. The track is suitable for use during less favorable weather conditions. There is a night regime at night. At Rotterdam Airport, apart from the flights with general aviation, mainly scheduled flights are operated and to a lesser extent charter and cargo flights.
